Ever since I stepped my foot in Q8 after my brief holiday, my life has been utterly consumed by planning and preparing for this long awaited event. It is safe to say that we've been planning and scheduling for this BBQ session as early as winter started. Obviously it got postponed few times due to various un-avoided reason and finally happening last few days. Coincidentally, we had few March and April babies, hence the celebration was organized to be on the same day with our BBQ event.

The event was held at Egaila Beach, Fintas. It is a park completed with facilities like chairs, tables, BBQ pit, air-conditioned surau and also mosque nearby, last but most importantly-clean and well maintained toilet. They even have few helpers patrolling around to help picnic-ers and campers setting up table or cleaning up the chairs and whatnot. With all the above mentioned facilities , of course there's some entrance charge involved but the amount was too small compared to the cleanliness and the facilities provided.

Errrmmmm why not I let the picture do the talking aite..

Disclaimer : Some of the photos came from my own collection but some were taken from my other friends's facebook. So credit for the photos goes to Ayu , Syerah and Lina.

:: Setting up table for the event ::

The main objectives of this event, of course to perform better bonding between us since most of us have very limited time to menziarah sesama sendiri personally, hence gathering like this save a lot of time, energy and more merrier too. Secondly, of course to feast ourselves with all-you-can-eat spread of good food prepared that day by all the mommies. However, ultimately as can be seen, it is the kids who having the time of their life that day. Mission accomplished I must say. After all their happiness are worthless and by seeing them giving all out, playing to their heart content, every sweats dropped that day simply worthwhile.

:: Mommies aka backbones of the day. Still there's few mommies not in the picture. You may check their blogs as given in the disclaimer above for prettier and higher quality pictures ::

:: Kaum bapa. Again, this is incomplete groupie picture. There's still few bapa not in this photo. Some were taking care of the kids, some were picking up foods and such ::

I think almost all events posted in my blog have significant with foods and more foods. Therefore, this time I am just going to put up minimal photo of foods. After all, the kids are indeed the star of the day and so let's give them extra credit. Anyway, below are some sneak peak on what we had that day.. Heavy foods are Nasik Lemak and Mee Goreng and we also have few types of kueh mueh, snacks, chocolate, crackers, satay and of course, the main dish was grill stuffs. All foods preparations were distributed evenly among us.

:: Nasik lemak and such. Sambal Udang Petai was mine, the rest was prepared by Syerah and Ayu ::

:: Beverages of the day. Bandung Soda by me, Iced Lemon Tea by Lina, Milkylicious Teh Tarik by Azian and Kak Ana, Diet Coke and mineral water ::

:: Binatang2 dan tumbuh-tumbuhan yang di bakar ::

As mentioned earlier, highlights of the day was definitely celebration of the 4 of March and April babies. A birthday celebration will never complete without birthday cake, goodie bags, candies, candles and such.

:: Icha is 6, Alis is 5, Erin and Lana is 3 ::

:: Since we came to know about Lana's birthday slightly later after the cake has been ordered, hence nama Lana takde kat kek nih ::

:: Princess theme cake by Mr Baker ::

:: Tiup lilin just for fun ::

:: Cake cutting. They did look as bright as button don't they ? ::

:: Goodie bags I managed to prepare for the kids. Saje suka suka bagi derang happy ::

After the officially cake cutting ceremony, all the kids immediately get back to their un-finished, distracted activity which is playing. None of them were really bothered to eat the cake hahaha. So we let them be. It's not like everyday they got to play sand, eat sand, sleep sand.

Once in a while, they were distracted by few professional photographer aka aunties asking them to strike a pose for momentos. So here are the end results. Tq auntie Syerah and Auntie Ayu for lovely photos. Nak harap camera cap ayam mak depa, mmg la kelabu hasapp je gamba ...

The event lasted from 8.00 am till almost 5 pm. After shower and gotten rid of 1/2 kilo of sands they brought back from the beach, Alis and Erin straight away focusing on un-wrapping their presents given by aunties and uncles.

Thank you so very much for all the thoughtful gifts. They loves it to bits.

Let's not elaborate more on the closing of my day, specially the one involved cleaning all the utensils, scraping my kitchen and such. Definitely not something I would like to use as a closing to such a fruitful and colorful day like this.

All I've been meaning to say was, we had great times, great food on our tables, great memory shared together and I am thankful for that.

Alhamdullillah..
