I've read about it for quite a long time but haven't got a chance to explore this particular mall for various reasons. If you must know, Discovery Mall is a mall totally designated and dedicated for the kids. All outlets in there are meant for kids and packed with kids-centric shops from clothing line, toys, play arcade, game shop and so on. Simply put, if you are a bachelor, or if you're married but doesn't bless with kids just yet, or if you're not currently pregnant.... then this place isn't just right for you. However, if you have kids, currently conceiving one, or you're in need of finding a gifts for kids, or you have nieces or nephews around and sort of planning of bringing them for a day out... thus this is exactly the place you should be heading to.

Alis was on two weeks winter holiday as we know it so we decided to bring them here few days ago. After having had to endure the agony of episodes of never ending waiting for mummy and papa shopping and never really complaint or give us much hard time, I think they deserved this trip.

Anyway, back to Discovery Mall, they have like 3 level. Among the outlets I managed to peek inside was Lola et Moi, Baroue, Ecco Kids, Crocs, Adidas and a few other kids clothing outlets that I forgot it's name. Apart from clothing and toys, they also have My Gym, a gym for babies, Curves which is a health and fitness centre for woman, Funky Fish - a pet shop, bowling place, PLAY - a fully cushioned area with a lot of stuffs to play with, GOAL - an indoor soccer pitch, XD theather, food court and many more. In short, there's are abundance of things to do under one roof, a day is never enough to cover it all.

:: Lola et Moi boutique. Pic googled. When I was there, they were close for break ::

:: Mini Golf Course ::

:: I wanted to try this, like seriously but time was really envy on us. Next time Insya Allah ::

After roaming around at 1st floor, we decided to check the ground floor. This is where we found a place that makes my husband really, really... really happy if possible he would jumping jack out of joy.

Briefly, this place offers flight simulation experience for anyone who interested in aviation. They have like 11 simulators for you to try out, just for fun or professionally. You can check more info about them here. Apart from "serious" simulators stuffs, they also offers simulation setup for gamer, hobby craft shop and game shop. This kind of place is a heaven on earth for my husband. Me.... Nahhhhhhh.. There's only one section that is perfect for me. The Lounge ! kah kah kah...

:: Game stations ::

:: The staffs offers the girls to snap picture inside Airbus 320 simulator and we just couldn't say no. Muahaha padahal de yang berlebih2 ::

My husband decided to try on one of the stuff they offered and by being a hard core gamer, it came out as no shock to me when he decided to play fighter game. Did I or didn't I mentioned earlier that this place are going to bring out the child in you?

:: Briefing ::

:: I think he's playing some fighter jet errrrr F-18 maybe. Dunno lahhh, I don't speak game language! ::

:: In deep concentration only a true gamer possessed, bekerja keras mempertahankan kubu dari serangan musuh musuh durjana ::

For the particular one that my husband was playing on, the fee was KD 10 for an hour and KD 7 for 1/2 hour so he opted for an hour, OF COURSEEEE ! We came to entertain the kids, ended up the kids had to wait for one hour for their papa. Kinda defeat the purpose isn't it hahahhaa. But it's okay as my husband also deserve this short get away, so I took the kids for snacks and drinks at the lounge and after that, to the pet shop, just outside this flight simulation centre.

Once he's done, we had our late lunch, pasta and Cinnamon Roll at CinnaMonster. Then my kids sort of saw a play arcade called PLAY so we let them play inside it for few hours. They charged KD 5 per kids and you also need to pay 200 fils for the card to be used to swipe at the arcade entrance. It's an open time concept so your kids can play all day long, no limitation.

:: Baby area. Cuteness overload isn't it? The place is definitely kids and babies proof, soft, fully cushioned so you can sit at ease by the bench provided and watch your kids having their time out sans worrying about them getting hurt. Not to mentioned shining clean, and all the equipments was well maintained. ::

:: Candy colored stairs ::

:: Any open or potentially danger areas was well protected with netting and al sharp corner was covered well to avoid incidents. Even though parents or guardian need to be around all the time, we really didn't have much supervision to do ::

:: The spinner ::

:: Erin dah rupa haper dah terlambung2 hehe. Although it can't be seen in the still photo, most of the equipment here have different motion to each their own, made it much more fun to ride like the one above ::

:: Attempting to feel what hamsters actually thinks and feels every time they were spinning on the wheel :) ::

:: Water bed anyone? ::

They had tonnes of fun we had to practically drag them out from the arcade. It's past Maghrib already and we were heading to Souq Sharq after this and then to fish market next to it for some barang basah hunt later on. Oh my, you can't imagine how long their moncong was!

To make things worst, we stumbled upon this small corner on our way to washroom.

:: Girlie sangat kannnnnnnn.. It has everything a girl ever wished for. To be precise, it has everything Alis ever wished for. You can play make up artis over the mannequin provided as picture above. They had prepared all accessories and make up set on the dresser. It's KD 4 per 1/2 hour session if I'm not mistaken. They even offered pedi-mani service for your girls, temporary tattoo, face painting, art attack like paint-a-pot and few other girlie activities. Alis practically begged me to join but we were really running out of time so I promised her she can play here in our next visit Insya Allah. It took her all her wills to make a first step away from this salon. ::

While waiting for my husband to perform Maghrib prayer, we stopped by at GOAL to watch some soccer match.

As a parent, I find the idea of creating this kids-oriented mall is refreshing, brilliant albeit risky. Under normal circumstances, people would opted for a shopping center that cater everything under one roof for convenient sake. Even though most shopping malls nowadays provided play arena for kids, but with other "distractions" everywhere, Zara, GAP, Topshop, MNG , wellllll u know just to name a few muahahahaha, alas the situations more or less to be like shorter kids-time and longer mummy-papa time. Therefore mall with these concept is a god sent truly so your kids can have ultimate fun without other unnecessary distraction and as for the parents, you can dedicated an undivided attention to them once and for all since you was pretty much left with no choice hahaha. Honestly, we should have more mall with this concept. I don't think we have anything like this in Malaysia, no?

After all have been said, and done.. at the end of the day, what matters to me was my girls were happy, smiling, bright as button and chirping and dancing like a carefree bird.

That's more than enough, that's all I ever need. No amount of Zara tops can win over that.

Ermmmmmmmm okayyyyy I know I said they were all smiling and chirping happily like bird bla bla bla but the last pic was on the contrary. Well, this one is definitely another different story :)
