Passport in the making
5:40 PMThis is backdated passport story.
I bet everyone used to heard about how dealing with gov agencies are nothin but hair- pulling situation . Lacking of courtesy, not much of friendly manners, rude at times, long queue, long lunch hour yadda yadda yadda... Well sure enough I've had experienced those issue myself but to be fair, I had to say that not all gov service are incompetent, slow service, non customer friendly and whatnot.. Just to name a few, I've been dealing with few government bodies like KWSP HQ , JPN Putrajaya and so far they had been a great help, fast moving queue, the staff are friendly and smiling all the time and not to forget resourceful. I ain't VVIP of course, just a normal ordinary citizen with a needs to settle things if not fast, at least within affordable time frame. I didn't ask too much aren't I ??
If talking about Immigration, 1st thing I had in minds was Sri Rampai immigration office. It's kinda like love at a first sight thingy.. Long long time ago, we use to go to either Subang branch or Kajang but after knowing Sri Rampai branch, there's no turning back. I would rather travel from Puchong to Setapak just so that I can make my passport there and I'll tell u exactly why.
En Muddy informed me last months that I have to pass all original documentation for kids and mine to one of his friends that coming back to Malaysia for holiday on Mac for visa purposes. However before doing that, I need to settle all the stuff that need original document like bukak account for kids and I also had to make sure all of our passport is valid till November 2013 at leasy coz we were expected to be in Q8 estimately till around that time. Once the documents reach him, the next time i'll see the documents again was when he's coming back to malaysia later which estimately another 4-5 months more..
So beforehand, I've had went thru all rules and regulation from Jabatan Imigresen's webpage and siap print lagik, I've had prepared all documentation requested. Kata planner sesangat kan...Form dah isik - checked, gamba dh amik - checked, duit dah tekan - checked, document photostated and ori attached - checked and siap extra lg aku bg.. de takde mintak pun original and copy surat nikah, aku siap phototstate and attach ori.. hahahah over over... Bak kata tagline company ape ntah ekk slalu kluar radio to "Get used to getting more"... in my case, it's more like "Get used of giving more"

So around 8.30 plus plus (hahahha biasa la nk siapkan anak, buat susu, padahal nye bangun pun dah lambat) keluar rumah heading to Sri Rampai immigration office. Sampai around 9, park kereta and makhoiii... Queue dh stretched up to 100 metre from the main entrance.... hmmmmm... My father dh start de punye kuliah x bergaji..."Tu la ayah suruh bangun pagi.. patut kluar rumah kul 7 bla bla bla".. Well, there's no need to fight fire with fire right so just remained composed and calm sambil berkata... "Xper xper.. mama bawak la budak2 masuk dalam..duduk kat aircond. Biar Angah beratur".. huuhuh...
Out of nowhere,I heard someone called up Kak !... kak!!.. Carik punye carik, somehow nampak a familiar face just infront of me.. Turned out it was one of my husband friend.. Of all place, of all day, of all time boley pulak de beratur depan aku.. heheh alhamdullilah ade la jugak kawan nk sembang.. so catched up stories and changed updates bout my life and his. He was coming all the way from Pontian to renew his passports and family too. And i thought Puchong was far hahah..
He mentioned to me that he already tried to do it at Kukup branch but they've waited too long there hence they decided to come to Sri Rampai instead knowing that this branch was having fast service. See See See :) ..
They need to renew it for company outing to Chiengmai. Owhh if you must know, Malakoff staffs was having 2 years once overseas trip. Fully sponsored !! Last time was Bandung or Sabah and we chose Bandung. This year they offered ChiengMai or ClubMed Cherating. This friend of En Muddy chose Chiengmai apparently but we haven't yet finalise on ours. We'll decide based on En Muddy's schedule later on.
After good 45 minutes passed by, finally sampai jugak dekat ke destinasi - kaunter amik nombor .. Mine was 2036,2039 and 2040, number for counter khas ( children and senior citizen).. Soon after taking my number , not more than 5 minutes and everything went so fast. It's not us waiting for number but instead number waiting for us. Number up, forms verified and submitted, payment made and was told to come bck after 2 hours. Standard processing time so we decided to had our breakfast at mamak shop nearby. Me and my sis had mee goreng mamak, Alis Erin with roti canai kosong and my mum roti telur. Gobbled everything down in 1/2 hour when my father suruh masuk blk tunggu kat dalam ( immigration office).
Upon reaching the waiting area, I heard "2040 kaunter 18... 2040 kaunter 18"repeated ly.. "Huhhh...ehhh cam kenal !! saya saya saya... saya punye !!! "... Straightaway proceed to the counter and collected our passport. Apparently, 2036 and 2039, another numbers of mine was called up when i was still sipping my few last drop of teh o ais... hahaha... efficient sangat neh ..Cayalahhh ... 2 thumbs up lahh !
So all in all, everything was done before 12. While doing it at Subang Branch, we were already queuing up since 7 am in the morning and only gotten our passport ready at 3 pm in the afternoon. There's a kaunter khas also but somehow it's not functioning coz I'm carrying 1 year old baby but still be given normal counter number and I saw few makciks and pakciks also given non-kaunter khas number... How's that for something to compare...

Around 12, we already in our car, moving to next destination which is Plaza Alam Sentral, Shah Alam. There's one boutique i 've been eyeing at for few months and only today I actually had time to go and errrrr only today budget permitted to be exact hehe... However, my father had appointment at 4pm, so we had to settle everything and get back before 4 and so we did. Bought everything that we came for, had quick lunch at the food court, and headed back home.

Owhh...On another hand, it's backdated alright, but better late than never. Happy belated bithday to my mum and my sis. They shared same birthday on 6th Mac and shared same month with Erin, hence they shared same birthday cake.. We indeed not a sweet tooth ourself ourself so beli 1 kg cake sahaja, just so the kids are happy. Nyanyi-nyanyi , blow some candles and tepuk tepuk tepuk and happy happy happy cake cutting, makan 1 piece each and done. Next will be Alis birthday spree..
-Pistachios defect choc cake by Erin. Why moo moo and Pikachu? Sebab tu dua jek makhluk allah yg kedai tu jual hahahha -
-jangan tertipu sebab walau it was actually Nenek, acu and Erin's brthday, tapi ade main actress kesah?? De tetapp ratu tiop lilin & cake walau bukan birthday de hahaha.. Si birthday girl pulak tolong cheer utk die.. Bg can laaa -

|Important notes| :
- There's 2 package deal. U can choose to renew to either to 2 years (RM 100) or 5 years ( RM 300 for adults and 1/2 price for 18 yrs and below).
- If u choose the 2 years package , they won't carry forward any balance from ur old passports provided your passport still valid. You had to choose 5 years package if u wanted to carry forward any balance months u had. Since all of our passport expiry dat was 2012 onwards, hence we chosed the 5 years type and get to carried max 6 months from our old passport to new one.
- Weird but true, any photo with no visible eye brows will be rejected so those who had ur eye brow's wax-ed or shaved, there's high possibility u won't be able to go out of malaysia unless u draw fake eyebrows when taking the photo and they buy it . There's the only way I can think of but errrr there's a tongkang option too ! :)
