Do Good Deed In Ramadhan Campaign
12:56 PMIt's the campaign launched during Ramadhan to encouraged people to do good deed to others during this Holy Month as the reward was huge from Allah s.w.t. In most of GCC country, this is the month where you can find iftar tents being setup everywhere, mostly to cater laborers. They even appointed certain restaurant to prepare iftar everyday.
Some good value I can't help but noticed here among Arabian is they like to give ( sadaqah), and when they give, they really give, specially to kids. Not suam suam kuku kind-off give.
My husband once told me about one Kuwaitis generosity story. This generous Kuwaiti family went to Northern part of Malaysia for holiday where he met this local middle age taxi driver. They happened to had a chat and the Kuwaiti men asked him whether he already perform pilgrim, which he replied, he haven't had enough money yet. However he's been saving every extra penny he earned from driving taxi so one day he would have a chance to perform Haji. This Kuwaitis man apparently touched by his story and soon, the Kuwaitis decided to chartered his service through out their holiday. He will dispatched the Kuwaitis and his family whenever they wanted to go. During their last day in Malaysia, this Kuwaiti man called the taxi driver and asked him to come see him before they left to airport. This taxi driver obliged with the request and went to the hotel with no expectation. When the local man came face to face with the Kuwaiti man, he was handed flight tickets to Mecca and some amount of donation enough to support this taxi driver and his wife to perform pilgrim, that year. What an honorables gesture this Kuwaiti had done and because of him, one man was able to fulfill his dream.
Back to us, never once we went to grocery shop, or market or restaurant that my kids went home empty-handed. Not that we're hoping for free stuff but this is in their culture, it's best to respect their way by accepting their gifts and say thank you politely. At market, some of the seller will give either banana or fruits to the girls. Last week, we went to get few stuff from mini market near by home, not only Alis and Erin got bananas each, the shop assistant even give me Chewing Gum for free hahahaha... suddenlyI felt 5 years old.
There's one bread and pizza shop near my house named Kasser Al-Rayyan. We like to buy stuff from them not only because they're practically 100 metres away, they also sell a very delicious bread too. Every time we went there, the chef will make additional free mini pizza, for Alis and Erin apart from our orders. I really hope they won't start thinking we came by often for free mini pizza hehe.

It is just hard not to get influenced by this good culture when you're surrounded with a lot of generous people all around you.
Yesterday, my husband bought newspaper and I got the chance to flip and read few pages before went to bed. Normally in advertisement page, this WANTED kind of advertisement was a commoner...Flat wanted, roommate wanted, accountant wanted and etcetera etcetera etcetera.. Everybody wanted something from someone nowadays.
However, there's 1 WANTED advertisement caught my attention.
{ The right side WANTED Adv attracted me }
We've seen people donate money, blood, food, clothes, usable toys.. how about going all the way to the top and donate a kidney? To total strangers? This request we dun get to see everyday, the requester must have been pretty desperate to have it published.
I dun fit any of the requirement obviously. I just reached here, my blood type is not O+, I dun have Iqamas ( Kuwait IC or residence ID) just yet and last but not least, I was un-employed hence minimum salary was out of question. Allowance for being good wife is not counted as salary, to me :).. So even if I want to, I just dun fit the minimum requirement as stated.
I pray that Allah made it easy for the person who in needs of a kidney as above, and made it easy for her/his family too. May there's someone with big heart and extra kidney to spare come forward and help to end her/his misery. May she/he survive this test and be given second chance to see next year Ramadhan.
