Friends for life..
4:30 PMLiving thousand miles away from family and loved ones makes me realized how important it is to have friends in life. How big their impact in one's life. A short messages and a simple joke from them could simply made your day, no matter how broken you are, no matter how down you've been. There are so many kind of friends out there, clubbing friends, lepak-mamak-shop's friend, movie friend, golfing friend, diving friends, hangout friend, childhood friend and the list can go on and on and on.. It is just a label, just so you know, what you shared together mattered most.
Me on the other hand, like the rest of you, were blessed with so many friends in my life. Be it junior college friends, Uni friends, workmate or childhood friends. All of them are surely have touched my life in each different way and approaches. May Allah bless all of them.
Nevertheless, as much as I love my friends and making new friends, nothing really can beats the friendship built between me and my 2 good buddies since my high school time. I've practically grown up with them, they're like siblings my mum never gave birth to, and they're both male. I spent half of my childhood with them, the fact you can't just abandon, even by choice.
{Us sending Concorde to airport. Johoe in red shirt, and Concorde the tallest of all( I dun remember him being this tall, I supposed inhaling too much Paris's air makes you taller, not? }
I used to have negatives feedback about having 2 guy as a best friends, specially during my high school time, where wearing shorts in dorm can resort to canning. By saying negatives, I meant backbiting stuff like " Macam dah takde kawan perempuan dah nak kawan" and all that typical blah. Like I care. They're my homeroom mate to begin with. Of course I had girl homeroom-mates, that I get very close with too, but you dun get to choose your BFF, you just know. I just know ! As simple as that.
Me and them, are like langit dan bumi. Both are athletes back then, while me, the most sporty stuff I did was holding papan tanda rumah sukan during sports day. However, I heard they say, technically only pretty cute girls were given the chance to hold the papan tanda, U know, kinda like front person, representative.. So, that makes me ... hmmm... U finished the sentence urself lah.... kah kah kah kah kah....
Back to more serious note, seriously I can't really find much similarities between me and them. They're like super famous in my high school. Concorde famous for his excellent talents in sports, music, ability to play guitar very well ( Ala, U know how young chicks drooled over guitarist during high school. Boys with guitar skill scored highest mark. Second to having hair like Nick Carter BackStreetBoys) and Johoe was a charismatic leader with ability to fly on running track, pull stop! I knew his going to be leader ever since we were introduced during our very 1st homeroom meeting, and I wasn't wrong at all. Me on another hand... hmmm let me just put it this way. Me not very famous and flying or running or anything along the line was definitely not my forte. I can go pengsan by standing too long, left alone sprint 100 metres. So, seeing from their backgrounds and mine, where do I fit in, you may ask.
Definitely not running along them, by their side cause by simply attempting to do that, I could easily have to eat their foot prints 1st. Worst come to worst, they might have reached the finishing line, and have had to turn around to pick me up hahaha. Well, if talking in movie production wise, for every good successful production, there must be orang belakang tabir that play some role, no matter big or small. Even janitor play important role what? So let just say, I am that orang belakang tabir. Everytime their turn to pass baton, or running to win, who will hold their belongings? ME ! Everytime they came back from track, somewhat sweaty and stinky( they're so gonna kill me for this), who will pass them their mineral water and towel? ME ! Say no more.. I could be an un-important janitor, but no one wants dirty smelly toilet don't they?
We shared one common though, I recalled. Our hand writings. All of us have pretty neat and sensational handwriting. ( Ehh puji diri sdiri bulan puasa consider makruh ke tak ek? ). Plus point especially when everything during our time was done handwritten. Assignments, kerja khusus, homework.. the only chance of us touching a keyboard was during 1 hour computer class. We're also a very creative person specially Johoe. He alwasy come up with something very artsy and creative. No wonder Cikgu Zalilah love him so much kakaka.. owh infact almost all teacher loves him. My creativeness, normally nowhere to be found during pendidikan seni. Bile ade homework lukisan, selalu blank, tapi bile Valentine's Day dh dekat, or birthday boyfriend dah dekat or nak tulis surat chenta, kemain lagi ke-kreatifan tu melimpah limpah hahhahhaa... Okay enough on this, my husband do read my blog :)
Now, all 3 of us are happily married and each one of us was blessed with a pair of girls. Macam berpakat ehh.. Even all our girls are almost in the same group age. I had people asking me how our spouses reacted to our friendship, cause not many husband/wives can easily accept the fact that his wife/her husband was closely befriended with different gender. To which I could only replied by saying that all 3 of us somehow was fated to met 3 awesome partners that doesn't really mind our friendship and miraculously, get along together very very well.
We have very unique way of friendship though, which I think part of the reasons why we can click well.
We dun celebrate each others birthday. Me, sometimes was the one constantly forgot about their birthdays * slaps forehead* ( I secretly think this the main reason they accepted me in the 1st place. I'm like a man myself at times hahaha. Men= important dates= not very good combi ) * blushing*
We dun buy each others fancy expensive gifts like others always did. ( Maybe weird for a woman's nature to say this but I say Phewwwwww to this... It's my purse who always on diet, not them, so this unconsciously rules favor me lottttttssss )
We dun have ritual of Hey-we're-buddies-let's-meet-up-once-a-week thing. Trust me, get to meet each other once a year was huge success, to us. We're just very busy dudes and we lived in different continents too. At least one of us will, at one time. If Corde happened to be in town, Johoe will be flying oversea. If Johoe and Corde in town, my boss so cheap-skate dun wanna approve my leave. That's the dam nest thing. So Friendster, YM and FB were our basically our utmost hangout place.
Despite our differences in gender, we can talk practically about anything. Apart from my hubby and my father, this two gentlemans are only outsider I dare to take chance admitting I farted in public without having to risk having my phone number being deleted from their phone books or getting my FB account removed from their friend list. Ha Ha Ha.. Not that I ever did it okayy. My back side very civilized one. Just giving out the worst metaphor...
They're the first person I'm running to when I got bullied. I would be their punching back every time they broke up with their girlfriend. I even became their postmen, unpaid one of course, should they need to pass lovey dovey cards or letters to the girl they occasionally like that time. U know, all sort of things friend do for each other.
We apparently dun share same group of friends now. Partly related to our career choice. Johoe decided to explore the airspace to earn a living, u know get really close to sky you can even touch awan kulumbus kinda job. Concorde on another side, preferred sea creature more and he thought that snorkeling and diving was not good enough, he decided to go way further down. Job that involved words submerge and emerged a lot. Such an over-achiever this two person. Me, decided to be in between them, on land to be exact.. Safe and sound :)
I may absent in their most important occasion in lifes as much as they just couldn't be there during mine, but I made sure that I was there during their biggest and happiest day. Their wedding day.
I traveled 8 hours by train to Changlun, reached just on time for me to change to my kebaya and straight away heading to Concorde wedding, and then when everything done, changed to my jeans again and practically running to chase my train back to KL at the same day, survived another 8 hours train trip back to KL, just so that I won't miss my good friend wedding, just so I won't miss seeing him tied the knot with the woman he fell in love with and smiling from ear to ear all day long. I'll be zombie for him if that what it takes.
When Johoe getting married, I put on my thickest-skin I ever had and attended all 3 events. Dewan Felda with hubby, Ros's residence also with hubby. However, hubby's working on Johoe's reception, so I forced my parents to drove me down to Melaka so I can witnessed my good buddy on dais errr on kereta lembu to be exact. Or was it kereta kuda ek? Lupe lahhh...There's no way my husband would allowed me to go alone considering I am 6 months pregnant at that times. Seeing Johoe's face glowing with happiness, I can say that he's found the one and it's all worth it.
So... To Johoe and Concorde, if you happened to read this. Thank you for having me in your guys life. Thank you for being cool friends to me. Thank you for being there for my irrational raving and ranting.
I pray both of you all happiness in the world and may only good happy things comes your way.
You guys are indefinitely my big bro, my buddy, my guy and above all, my friends for life.
P/S : Today is not World Friendship Day, dun get mistaken. This post have no purposes whatsoever. Am just simply missing my friends.
Daaaaaaaaaaaaaa......
